FINAL RESULTS: 2018 NATIONAL NHSA POSTAL TARGET SHOOTING COMPETITION

All Appeals against elements of the Preliminary Competition Scores received before midnight 19 October 2018 were either answered or incorporated into the final 2018 competition results.

All exercises for the 2018 National Competition were conducted among the following Peer Groups:

Junior Class = 19 years of age and younger on 1 September 2018

Open Class = 20 to 59 years of age on 1 September 2018

Senior Class = 60> years of age on 1 September 2018

CHANGE IN RANKING FORMAT FOR DETERMINING FINAL 2018 COMPETITION RESULTS

Please take note that the format for ranking of scores as was used for determining the Preliminary 2018 Competition Scores, has been adapted for the ranking of scores for the Final Results of the 2018 national competition. The change in ranking format has had only minor impact on the preliminary ranking of scores.

Due to a number of realistic appeals received in this regard, Exco has been convinced that a proposed new format for determining ranking of scores is more fair than the previous format where ranking was determined by highest number of pure X-shots. Exco has decided to use the proposed new format to determine ranking for the final rankings for the 2018 competition already, as it is really more fair and realistic. This format will also be utilised to rank competition scores in future.

The format for ranking of scores in competition exercises (excluding semi-auto rifle scores), will from now on, be as follows:

Ranking is firstly determined by Highest Exercise Score. Competitors with same exercise scores are then ranked according to highest number of shots closest to centre of Target (Shot Indicators). First by highest total of pure X-Shots plus cut-X-shots; then by highest number of clear X-shots; then by highest number of cut-X-shots; then by highest total of pure 10-shots plus cut-10-shots; then by highest number of pure 10-shots; then by highest number of cut-10-shots, and so on. Competitors with exact same Exercise Scores and Shot Indicators, share the ranking in alphabetical order. Exercise Scores below 60% are indicated with "P" (Participated).

2018 TOP-GUNS

Criteria for Inclusion to be Ranked in Category: Minimum of four 100 score targets plus four Top-10 Rankings (all exercises included)

Ranking determined by highest number of medal places in all exercises competed in. If the same number of medal places, then highest number of #1 rankings, then number of #2 rankings, and then number of #3 rankings. If all the #1 to #3 rankings are the same, then highest number of additional Top-10 rankings, and finally highest number of 100-scores. Competitors then still with the same numbers, share the ranking in alphabetical order
