MAINTENANCE OF DEDICATED STATUS
Before the 1st of December 2019 when maintaining your dedicated status, you had to show that you were active on 3 different dates throughout the year together with being paid-up passed the 30th of November of the relevant reporting year
The new requirements as of 1 December 2019 are not that different
You now have to show that:
See the list of sport shooting-related activities – HERE
See the list of hunting-related activities - HERE
Remember the activities:
- must be on 2 different dates
- must be legal and firearm-related; as well as sport shooting related and/or hunting-related
1. Hunting or Sport shooting Expo/meeting will count as one activity – you can choose if you want to enter it as a sport shooting related activity or hunting-related activity
2. NHSA Postal shooting Exercises entered under the Score section will count towards the maintenance of your dedicated sport shooting status
3. If you go to the shooting range and you shoot with your handgun, you can enter it as a sport shooting related activity and you can shoot on the same day with your hunting rifle to be entered as a hunt related activity – both targets will count respectively even if shot on the same date
4. The green COVID practice target can be entered under Activity reports as a Hunting or Sport shooting activity. Download the target HERE
5. If you do more than one activity on one day, please log them as well. The more activities you log, the better your shooting register for future renewal of firearm applications and new firearm applications will be
