Despite all-inclusive anti-poaching initiatives since 2013, poaching for rhino horn continues to pose a significant threat to the conservation status of rhinos in the Kruger National Park.
The inadvertent COVID-19 disruption of organised crime supply networks potentially provided a respite from poaching pressure for the rhino populations of Kruger.
