There are clear indications that African countries are considering to disengage from CITES. CITES has clearly been taken over by green movements and by animal rightists NGOs and seems to no longer support the African focus of conservation through sustainable use. CITES has thus become just another reality deprived neo-colonialist vehicle to dictate to African countries how they should manage their wildlife.
