CF Rapid Fire Pistol

10m, CENTRE-FIRE PISTOL - 10 SHOT RAPID FIRE EXERCISE 

FIREARMS PERMITTED: Only Semi-Automatic Pistols (only 9mmP and larger Calibre Pistols) (al types of sight configurations allowed)

SHOOTING DISTANCE:  The shooting distance measured from the target to the edge of the firing line closest to the shooter is 10 meters.

COURSES OF FIRE:  10 shots at 10m in 30 seconds shot on the correct exercise specific target in your own time, and scored out of 100 points.

-        Load 10 rounds in magazine;

-        De-cock pistol on empty chamber with hammer down – magazine in pistol;

-        On start signal, cock pistol and fire string of 10 shots at prescribed target @ 10 metres;

-        Participants may use pre-loaded second magazine if first magazine does not take 10 rounds;

Note:  Time for exercise to be completed is 30 Seconds.  Timing starts when time keeper gives the command Start (Fire) and ends when the last shot has been fired.

FIRING POSITION:  Standing position, handgun held in one or both hands, with all portions of the shooter`s clothing, body and firearm clear of artificial support

SHOOTING RANGES

a.      Members may shoot on any generally recognised shooting range

b.      Members who do not have easy access to genarally recognised shooting ranges may apply for Exco permission to use a private shooting range on their farm or property - follow this procedure to apply for permission

c.      Members are required to pay the necessary shooting range fees as specified per shooting range, or as specified by the range for each course of fire.

d.      Members may access a list of NHSA Friendly Shooting Ranges here.  The list is solely meant to inform members where shooting ranges in their area are situated.

e.     Ranges are not responsible to teach members the rules for participation – that is what this guide is for.

f.      Shooting ranges are not responsible to furnish members with targets or to submit members’ scores.

g.       Members are requested to please ask the ranges where they shoot to Register the Range with the NHSA – registration of ranges is FREE of charge – other NHSA members in the vicinity of the range would also want to make use of the facility.

a.      Only the Most Recently Dated Exercise Specific Target (A4 format), which can be downloaded at the link above, may be used for this exercise. 

b.      Shooting ranges are not responsible to furnish members with targets.

c       Members may make good quality copies of the official A4 NHSA Targets.

d.      Shot targets must at all times be counter signed by personnel at the range or by a verifying witness.  All other fields on the Target must be filled in.
