NEW LICENCE APPLICATION UNDER AMNESTY: FIREARM NOT ORIGINALLY LICENSED IN YOUR NAME
Dear Member,
Congratulations must be extended to Martin Hood & Associate Attorneys who today received a court order in which SAPS is ordered to accept a new licence application from a person handing in the firearm under the amnesty, even if the firearm is originally licensed in name of another person.
Thus, a son/daughter may apply for a new licence under the amnesty for a firearm of his/her grandfather of which the white licence had lapsed if the son/daughter would in person hand in the firearm under the amnesty (see procedures for participation in current amnesty HERE)
The court order also addresses other issues in this regard, i.e. firearms not registered on the EFRS, or of deceased estates where the licence had expired prior to death.
Members can read the complete court order HERE
Remember the current amnesty ends on 31 January 2021 if one would want to take advantage of this important court ruling brought about by the sterling work of Martin Hood and Associates.
Kind Regards, Natshoot Office
