The SAPS Directive of 27 April 2023 indicating the cost structure for licence and other firearms related applications was published in Government Gazette No. 48604 on 17 May 2023.

The Directive contains the annual costs structure up to the financial year 2025 / 2026.

Take note that SAPS's financial year runs from 1 April to 31 March the following year.

Also take note that SAPS has for the past three years been slow in implementing their new cost structure early in April.  This means members could not submit applications during the first half of April, because SAPS's electronic financial system was not in place.  In 2023 this situation was only rectified in the last week of April.

Remember you can only pay with cash or with a bank guaranteed cheques.  And remember SAPS do not have change - take the exact amount if you pay with cash.
