FOLLOW-UP: ROGUE POLICE ELEMENTS ON N1 HIGHWAY AT HAMMANSKRAAL

Dear Member,

We again repeat our urgent message to our members who might be traveling to Limpopo Province during the hunting season.

There have been renewed messages of people traveling with firearms being harassed by rogue metro police elements in the Hammanskraal area and particularly around the Carousel toll gate, since the long weekend in April.

Please read our legal representative’s advice on managing such situations.  So that you can to try and prevent being intimidated at such unofficial roadblocks - https://natshoot.s3.amazonaws.com/uploads/00-21-NEW/Newsletters/2023/1682529534356-Juan%20advice%20re%20roadblocks%20Tshwane%20Metro%20problems%2026%20April%202023.pdf

Please only use WhatsApp – shortly explain what happened.  Please ONLY WHATSAPP

Please also take note of the two telephone numbers of Tshwane Metro Police senior management who you can call if the need should arise if you are being bullied at specific a roadblock in the Tshwane metro area.

Inspector Hannes Louw 083 437 7987 (he speaks both English and Afrikaans)

Inspector Khoza 083 656 6871 (he speaks both English and Afrikaans)

Please make sure you have the correct legal knowledge if you must travel to Limpopo Province during the coming hunting season (read Mr Kotze’s advice in the above-mentioned two documents)

Remember these people want to intimidate you and want to illegally bully you out of money – keep cash separately and not visible in your wallet - and do not be aggressive in any manner.

Also make sure you do not have an electronic link to your bank account on your phone (even if only for the specific journey) as they are arrogant enough to force you to make an electronic transfer to their account from your phone.

It is advisable that you travel with as few loaded handgun magazines as you can.  Magazines of hunting firearms - transport loose (or even away) from the firearm.

Please be assured that we are with other associations and the top structures of the Tshwane Metro Police working hard to try and stop this illegal practice.

But we need your help please if you should be stopped and intimidated for money - please inform Mr Kotzé per WhatsApp as soon as you can directly after the incident.

Kind regards, Natshoot office
