SAPS increased fees for licence applications from 1 April 2022.

The following fees will be applicable for different types of applications:

DESCRIPTION OF DOCUMENT                                        

Competency - SAPS 517 =                                     R80.00

Further competency- SAPS 517(a)  =                R80.00

Renewal of competency - SAPS 517(g) =        R80.00

License to Possess a F/A -SAPS 271  =                R161.00

Renewal of license - SAPS 518(a) =                    R80.00 / firearm

Permanent Import Export - SAPS 520 =            R161.00

Duplicate license for F/A (White) SAPS 517(b) =   R80.00 / firearm

Temporary authorization - SAPS 518 =             R161.00

In-Transit Permit - SAPS 520 =                             R161.00

Transporters Permit - SAPS 520(b) =                R322.00

Ammunition Collectors - SAPS 520(c) =         R161.00

Accreditation - SAPS 519 =                                    R322.00

Please ascertain you take the correct cash amount with you when submitting applications as SAPS usually do not have change

Also please ascertain that the receipt you receive is attached to your application
