NATSHOOT SUBMISSION RE PROPOSED DFFE POLICY ON USE OF LION, LEOPARD, RHINO AND ELEPHANT

Dear Member,

The Minister of Forestry, Fisheries, and the Environment on 28 June 2021 invited public comments on her proposed new policy on the ecological sustainable use of elephant, lion, leopard, and rhino to be submitted before or on 28 July 2021.  This policy was just unconstitutionally and without stakeholders consultations, forced on us by the Minister after her controversial High-Level Panel of Experts' report on the management of elephant, lion, leopard and rhino was made public on 2 May 2021

You can read the Minister's proposed policy HERE

You can read the Natshoot comments on the irrationalities of the proposed policy which will kill wildlife ranching in this country if ever accepted, HERE

You can also read the comments of the highly acclaimed environmental lawyer, Mr Ian Cox, in opposition to the proposed DFFE policy HERE

Once again litigation cannot be disregarded if the Minister would want to continue with the implementation of the seriously irrational proposed and green-agenda driven policy on the use of what is referred to as iconic species (as if these four species are more important than all other species in nature).

Kind regards, Natshoot Office
