Possession of Ammunition

The FCA states that a person may only hold ammunition for the calibre of firearms he or she has a license for - issued in terms of the FCA (Act 60 of 2000).

Occasional Hunters and Occasional Sports-Persons

Only 200 rounds of ammunition may be kept per licensed firearm at any given tbulletsime. This provision does not include ammunition bought at or fired at a shooting range.

An occasional hunter or sports-person may apply for a permit to hold more than 200 rounds for a specific firearm - download application form (SAPS 540 here)

Dedicated Hunters and Sports-Persons
